Jana was born in South Africa and moved to the USA in 2011. Transitioning from a career in Law in South Africa, to being a full-time Mom in the USA, she started road running as a hobby and completed various half and full marathons. In 2017, a year after the birth of her second daughter, she joined CrossFit Surmount and quickly became part of the CFS family. She also convinced her husband and kids to join in the following years, and today they are all active CrossFit participants at CFS. Jana enjoys endurance-based workouts as well as lifting heavy weights. Outside off CrossFit, she also has a passion for cooking, baking, nutrition, and clean and healthy eating. She is enthusiastic about mobility and functional fitness and regularly takes on rucking activities and challenges, having recently completed a GoRuck Basic as well as a 22-Mile ruck. Since passing her Level 1, Jana is eager to help members focus on improving their mobility, and to help new members through their On-Ramp sessions to learn the foundational CrossFit movements.
