About Nate
I've always been active and involved in sports and fitness since my late teens, but I didn't discover CrossFit until 2017. In 2020, I joined CrossFit Surmount and quickly found much more than a place to work out. The atmosphere at Surmount has always been welcoming, inclusive, and supportive — a place where you can spend an hour embracing the misery alongside your friends and leave feeling better than when you walked in.
One of the things I love most about CrossFit Surmount is seeing the impact it has on people's lives. Watching members, especially those who started with little or no fitness background, gain confidence, improve their health, and accomplish things they never thought possible is incredibly inspiring. That transformation is one of the biggest reasons I wanted to become a coach.
And if I'm being completely honest, another reason I became a coach is that I wasn't always a fan of the other coaches' music choices—I figured the best solution was to get behind the whiteboard and take over the playlist myself.
As a coach, you can expect high energy (actual good music), encouragement, and plenty of celebration. Whether you're hitting a major milestone or achieving a small personal victory, I'm committed to recognizing the hard work that goes into every step of the journey. My goal is to help athletes of all ages build confidence, enjoy the process, and become the best version of themselves—inside and outside the gym. The Crossfit Surmount way.
