How and why did you get involved in CrossFit?
In Boston I used to follow Les Mills and enjoyed doing that workout .. when I moved I did start with Les Mills however I started to feel I need a change.. looking at the setup of a typical crossfit gym (the huge tiers , the thick rope hanging from the ceiling) I was too skeptical about this form of exercise … it was only here in Crossfit Surmount that I took my first baby steps to break that barrier
What was the first workout that you completed?
I am not good in remembering the names of the workout or even the different moves (METCON, EMOM, AMRAP). My strategy is to read the white board and follow the instructions of the coach
What are your current and future training goals?
My personal goal is to climb the rope and be able to do a hand stand some day.
What is your favorite activity or lift, e.g., pull-ups, dead-lifts, running, front squats, snatches, burpees, etc.?
Back-squats and Dead-lifts
What is your least favorite activity or lift?
Thrusters and running
What PR are you most proud of achieving and why?
Back squat singles. I never believed I could carry that much weight
What do you enjoy more, strength or conditioning and why?
Both, I think I like doing strength exercise but I want to excel in conditioning
Spicy street food of India like “Pav Bhaji”, “Vada Pav”, “Chow Mein” to name a few
What are 3 fun facts about yourself?
– I do hiking and car camping
– I am a vegetarian
– I have an old Lhasa Apso that’s almost 10 yrs old now
